Description
A matte black sphere hangs from the ceiling, suspended by a chain. Its form recalls a disco ball, yet its defining function is absent. There are no mirrors, no reflections, no dispersion of light.
Instead of projecting outward, the object seems to absorb illumination. The promise of collective visibility, of shared rhythm, exposure, and release, is inverted. What would normally animate the surrounding space is sealed within an opaque volume.
The work suggests a celebration that has withdrawn from access. The party is implied but unreachable, displaced from the social surface into an interior the viewer cannot enter.
What remains is a closed system. It is anticipation without participation, movement without trace, presence reduced to a suspended, silent mass.
