Description
The phrase issues a command.
It assumes clarity: a front, an enemy, a line that can be held.
In the mirror, this certainty fractures.
The instruction repeats, but its addressee shifts.
What was meant to orient action now folds back onto perception.
The viewer is placed simultaneously before and behind the order.
Between self-recognition and self-opposition, the work suspends a difficult thought: that conflict is not always encountered across a distance, and that some demands cannot be answered without turning toward what reflects them.
The mirror does not resolve the command.
It returns it.
