Description
The work announces its own condition of existence. It speaks in the language of measurement, where experience is translated into units and cost.
Energy is named, but not accounted for. The statement loops back onto itself. It consumes power in order to declare that it consumes power.
What remains unresolved is where the work begins and ends: in the glowing letters, in the electricity that sustains them, or in the moment the promise of visibility is withdrawn.
If the light goes out, the sentence persists as a question: whether presence depends on activation, and whether art, like energy, exists only while it is being spent.
